ABOUT ME

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in our own little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."
~  Mark Twain

Hello and welcome to GBC Impressions Photography Workshops! I'm sure you'd like to know a little bit about me before you make the decision to attend one of my photo tour workshops. So, here is a little bit about me.

I hold a BS degree in engineering and an MBA. I worked in the corporate world for 20+ years and co-owned a successful business during that time. However, success in business never satisfied me. I always knew what really brought me true happiness was my passion for photography.

Scenic and Fine Art Photography is a skill that I learned from years and years of teaching myself, reading countless books and articles, and attending photography courses and workshops. Photography is a form of artistry, self-expression and a therapeutic release to the stresses of our modern society. If you have been contemplating a photo workshop, I think you would find the GBC experience very rewarding.

I offer workshops in several locations, but I must confess Yosemite is my all time favorite. My times at Yosemite have life-altering, and if you have never been there I would highly recommend you put it on your “to do” list.

Thank you for visiting my site and I hope to see you at a future workshop. I wish you peace, health, and happiness wherever your photographic journey takes you.

Best,

Gregory

TESTIMONIALS

QUOTES

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary". ~ Steve Jobs

"I went into the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I come to die, discover that I had not lived". ~ Henry David Thoreau

"Love the life you live, live the life you love" ~ Bob Marley

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." ~ Robert Frost

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from thr safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain

"Man's heart away from nature becomes hard". ~ Standing Bear

"Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul". ~ John Muir

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better". ~ Albert Einstein

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us "Universe", a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prision for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prision by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty". ~ Albert Einstein

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As long as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles". ~ Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl

"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up. I wrote down "happy". They told me I didn't understand the assignment, I told them they didn't understand life." - John Lennon

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.

The highest courage is to dare to be yourself in the face of adversity. Choosing right over wrong, ethics over convenience, and Truth over popularity.  These are the choices that measure your life. Travel the path of integrity without looking back, for there is never a wrong time to do the right thing. ~Anonymous

The first person who benefits from showing compassion to others is oneself. ~Dalai Lama

If you only rely on material goods, you will not achieve your real goal. Sensory experience alone does not bring lasting inner peace. ~Dalai Lama
